Job Summary
The Finance Manager shall oversee and manage all finance and accounting functions of the Company engaged in the importation and distribution of salt, chemicals, rice, and other agricultural products. The position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, maintaining effective internal controls, managing cash flow and working capital, ensuring compliance with statutory and tax requirements, and providing timely financial analysis and strategic recommendations to support business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards and Company policies.
- Analyze financial performance, identify variances, and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Present financial results, forecasts, and analyses to Senior Management.
- Lead the annual budgeting and business planning process.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts, financial projections, and profitability analyses.
- Monitor budget utilization and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Provide financial insights and support strategic business decisions, expansion initiatives, and capital investments.
- Manage the Company's cash flow, liquidity requirements, and working capital to ensure sufficient funding for operations.
- Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and financing arrangements.
- Monitor collections, disbursements, and cash positions to optimize cash utilization.
- Ensure timely settlement of obligations to suppliers, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee inventory accounting, costing, and valuation for imported and locally sourced products.
- Monitor importation costs, landed costs, freight, duties, and other related expenses to ensure accurate product costing.
- Analyze product margins, inventory turnover, and profitability by product category.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Sales Departments to strengthen inventory controls and minimize losses and variances.
- Ensure full compliance with tax laws, BIR regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Review and approve tax returns, including VAT, withholding taxes, and income tax filings.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government agencies during audits and inspections.
- Ensure timely renewal and maintenance of permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve internal control systems, financial policies, and procedures.
- Safeguard Company assets through effective monitoring and risk management practices.
- Evaluate operational and financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigating measures.
- Ensure adherence to Company policies and accounting controls across all business units and warehouses.
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop the Finance and Accounting team.
- Set performance objectives and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams to support operational requirements and business objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is not required but an advantage.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Preferably with experience in trading, importation, distribution, FMCG, agricultural products, or chemical industries.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, treasury, inventory accounting, and internal controls.
- Experience in managing importation costing, landed cost analysis, and multi-warehouse inventory operations is an advantage.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
