Kitchen Helper (Multiple locations)

Description:

The Kitchen Helper supports overall kitchen operations by assisting cooks in food preparation, ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen area, helping with inventory tasks, and assisting in receiving and organizing stocks or deliveries. The role requires attention to detail, good hygiene practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Cook: Help with basic cooking tasks such as preparing ingredients, cutting vegetables, marinating, or portioning food items as instructed by the cook or chef.
• Product/Ingredient Preparation: Ensure that all ingredients are washed, peeled, chopped, or prepared ahead of time to support kitchen workflow.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment clean and sanitized at all times. This includes washing dishes, cleaning work surfaces, and properly disposing of waste.
• Inventory Assistance: Help in checking, counting, and organizing kitchen inventory items. Report low stock levels or spoiled items to the supervisor.
• Receiving Deliveries: Assist in receiving and checking incoming supplies or deliveries to ensure quantity and quality. Help in organizing stocks in proper storage areas.
• Follow Safety Standards: Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines as set by company policies and local regulations.
• Other Duties: Perform other kitchen-related tasks as may be assigned by the cook or supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to learn and follow kitchen procedures.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long hours and lift light to moderate loads.
• Can work under pressure and in a team environment.
