Overview

We are a U.S.-based manufacturer of high-end interior fixtures for luxury watch and jewelry stores seeking a Remote CAD Drafter. Our company builds custom display showcases and millwork for global brands, and with demand growing rapidly, we’re looking for a skilled drafter to help translate design intent into detailed, buildable shop drawings.

In this role, you’ll take PDFs or concept drawings and convert them into precise technical drawings that can be handed directly to the manufacturing team. You’ll need to think through how each fixture is constructed - integrating wood, metal, glass, and lighting - and produce clean, build-ready plans that account for structure, wiring, finish layers, and installation methods.

The ideal candidate has strong AutoCAD skills, a background in furniture or millwork drafting, and experience preparing technical drawings for fabrication. The role also requires the ability to create 3D renderings when needed, particularly in cases where the team is helping visualize or design a space for a client.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate client-provided design PDFs into detailed shop drawings using AutoCAD
• Create 3D renderings of fixtures or space layouts when requested to support client presentations or
• space design work
• Incorporate materials, structural support, lighting pathways, and finishes into the drawings

Ensure technical drawings are clear, buildable, and align with both design and manufacturing constraints

• Update and revise drawings based on feedback from internal engineering, client design teams, and factory requirements
• Flag design issues or buildability concerns early and propose practical alternatives
• Coordinate with the internal Project Coordinator to stay aligned on deadlines and approvals

• Prepare files in formats required by overseas factories and respond to clarification questions when needed
• Assist in aligning drawings with manufacturing preferences, materials on hand, and available components

• 3+ years experience in technical drafting for custom furniture, fixtures, millwork, or cabinetry
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of materials like wood, metal, stone, and integrated lighting
• Ability to think through physical construction and translate design intent into a manufacturable drawing
• Detail-oriented and accurate - capable of producing clean, precise technical files with minimal oversight
• Familiar with revision workflows and able to incorporate notes quickly
• Experience working remotely and independently with a distributed team
• Proficiency in 3D rendering tools and ability to generate clear, client-ready visuals of fixtures or spaces

• Familiarity with high-end retail fixture design or visual merchandising displays
• Experience working with overseas manufacturing teams
• Exposure to material sourcing, lighting specifications, or fixture engineering
• Ability to write simple client-facing emails to clarify drawing-related questions
