Job Description
- Prepares State tax forms for US State Compliance.
- Performs intermediate level processes within Tax Software
- Submits the tax returns to State Tax Authorities through paper or electronic filing.
- Tracks and maintains carry forward amounts such as NOLs, prior year overpayment and other payments and credits to assist with compliance and tax calculations
- Assists in State Audits, Notice Tracking and addresses simple to moderately complex inquiries and requests from State Auditors and State Tax Authorities.
- Completes research to support positions taken in the tax returns, recognizes and escalates project issues to Onshore State Tax Manager and other senior team members
- Works with accounting, finance, treasury, and relevant parties from different segment to gather financials, apportionment schedules, and supporting calculations to assist in the completion of projects assigned
- Escalate and analyse identified issues and concerns to the Onshore State Tax Manager and/or Team Lead for timely resolution.
- Maintain the SOP/DTP of current processes and incorporate documentation updates as required.
- Assess identified issues and collate documentation to assist in investigating and in resolving common and recurring issues.
- Perform simple but varied tasks in compliance with service level agreement, process, policies, and procedures.
- Support selected simple process improvement initiatives to streamline processes.
