Position Summary

The IT Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computer systems, networks, and other technology-related infrastructure within the organization. This role ensures smooth day-to-day IT operations, provides technical support to employees, and assists in implementing new technologies to enhance productivity and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support
  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users (hardware, software, and network issues).
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and peripherals.
  • Assist employees with system access, software installations, and troubleshooting.
  • System Maintenance
  • Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN), internet connectivity, and IT equipment.
  • Perform regular system updates, security patches, and antivirus scans.
  • Ensure data backup and recovery systems are in place and functional.
  • Hardware & Software Management
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning hardware or software.
  • Maintain inventory of IT assets and ensure proper documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors for IT equipment procurement, repair, and warranties.
  • Security & Compliance
  • Enforce company IT policies on data security and usage.
  • Support cybersecurity measures, including password management, firewall monitoring, and access
controls.
  • Assist in compliance with relevant data protection laws and IT audit requirements.
  • Projects & Improvements
  • Support the rollout of new applications, systems, or upgrades.
  • Assist in implementing IT infrastructure improvements to meet operational needs.
  • Research and recommend innovative solutions to enhance IT operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent
work experience).
  • Proven experience as an IT Technician, Technical Support Specialist, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and office
software.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and system repairs.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data privacy standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
  • Experience with cloud services (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS).
  • Knowledge of database systems and IT ticketing tools.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Work Conditions
  • Based at the company’s office(s), with occasional travel to other sites if needed.
  • May require on-call availability for urgent technical issues.
  • Regular working hours with a case-to-case overtime on Emergency situations.
