CONTROLLER

Job Summary:

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with various financial regulations, and providing accurate financial reports to management. This position plays a critical role in financial planning, analysis, and strategy, while also managing the finance and accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and applicable regulations.
• Ensure the integrity of financial reporting by overseeing the preparation and analysis of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

1. Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Develop and manage the organization’s annual budget process, including quarterly and annual forecasting.
• Monitor budget variances and communicate financial performance against the budget to senior management.

1. Cash Management:

• Oversee cash flow management and liquidity planning, ensuring sufficient funding for operational needs.
• Implement financial controls to optimize cash management processes.

1. Compliance and Audit:

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations including tax reporting and financial audits.
• Facilitate audits and liaise with external auditors, ensuring accurate and timely completion of audits.

1. Team Leadership:

• Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team to enhance performance and development.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance working environment within the finance department.

1. Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement improvements in accounting systems and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
• Leverage technology solutions to automate manual processes and increase reporting capabilities.

1. Financial Strategy:

• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding financial strategy, operational efficiency, and risk management.
• Assist in developing long-term financial plans and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, ERP systems).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Background in construction industry is an advantage.
