We are currently looking for a Procurement Officer for a well-established Australian hospitality group operating multiple dining, bar, and event venues across Sydney and regional NSW. The group runs a high-volume operation with a supplier network spanning hundreds of vendors across food and beverage, kitchen equipment, packaging, cleaning products, uniforms, and venue consumables.

This role reports directly to the group's Procurement Manager, who oversees all supplier relationships and commercial procurement activity across the business. You will have clear direction, structured processes, and direct access to someone who knows the operation inside out.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Procurement Manager in managing the group's supplier relationships across food and beverage, equipment, packaging, cleaning, uniforms, and venue consumables
  • Assist with the review and management of supplier contracts, flagging terms that require attention or renegotiation
  • Coordinate supplier negotiations in collaboration with the Procurement Manager to secure competitive pricing, payment terms, and service conditions
  • Research and evaluate alternative suppliers and present findings to the Procurement Manager for review and decision
  • Coordinate with venue managers and operations teams to align procurement activity with each location's needs and timelines
  • Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues including delivery delays, quality concerns, and contract breaches
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date procurement register covering all active suppliers, contracts, and renewal dates
  • Process and track purchase orders across all venues and ensure approvals are in place before commitments are made
  • Prepare cost analysis reports and procurement summaries to support the Procurement Manager's oversight of the business
  • Support the onboarding of new suppliers including documentation, due diligence, and system setup
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain role
  • Experience managing or supporting a large supplier base across multiple categories
  • Comfortable reviewing supplier contracts and identifying terms that need attention
  • Strong coordination and communication skills. You will be the operational link between the Procurement Manager, venue teams, and suppliers on a daily basis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with procurement or ERP systems
  • Professional written and spoken English. This role involves regular communication with Australian suppliers, venue managers, and the Procurement Manager
  • Able to manage your own workload and follow through on tasks with minimal hand-holding in a remote environment
  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated, distraction-free home workspace
Preferred but not required
  • Background in hospitality, food and beverage, or FMCG procurement
  • Experience with Australian supplier markets and pricing benchmarks
  • Exposure to procurement software such as Coupa, Procurify, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with Australian contract law basics and supplier compliance requirements
