Roles & Responsibilities
Compensation and Benefits Management- Design, implement, and manage competitive compensation programs that attract, retain, and motivate employees
- Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, leave benefits, allowances, and other fringe benefits
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in coordination with the payroll team
- Monitor market trends and adjust compensation and benefits strategies to stay competitive
- Conduct job evaluations and salary benchmarking
- Address employee concerns or questions related to compensation and benefits
- Ensure that employee attendance is consistently recorded, which may involve using biometric systems or the HRIS
- Maintain records of employees’ unused leave balances
- Ensure compliance with statutory leave laws such as Service Incentive Leaves (SIL), Maternity Leaves, Paternity Leaves, and Solo-parent Leaves
- Review timesheets to ensure accuracy before payroll is processed
- Coordinate with the finance or payroll team to ensure timely and accurate salary disbursement
- Update leave and offset records regularly
- Provide reports to management on attendance trends, absences, and any issues that might arise with employee time off
- Ensure proper reporting and remittance of employee and employer contributions to government agencies such as SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR
- Liaise with government bodies regarding any changes to contribution rates or compliance requirements
- Keep the management team updated on any changes in labor laws or government policies that impact the business
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding benefits, compensation, and compliance issues
- Respond to employee queries on HR policies, benefits, payroll, and regulatory matters
- Assist in the resolution of employee concerns related to compensation, benefits, or non-compliance matters
Reporting and Documentation:
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting for all compensation, benefits, and compliance-related activities
- Generate regular reports for management related to compensation data, benefits utilization, and compliance metrics
- Maintain up-to-date records of employee benefits, government filings, and other regulatory documents
- Analyze attendance trends to identify areas of improvement
- Create reports for management regarding workforce productivity, overtime, or absentee rates
- Ensure compliance with all labor laws, regulations, and best practices
- Prepare and submit DO 174 applications for contracting or subcontracting arrangements, ensuring full compliance with labor standards and documentation
- Monitor compliance with data privacy regulations such as the Data Privacy Act and ensure that employee data is handled securely and appropriately
- Coordinate with legal counsel and external authorities to resolve compliance issues or audits
Process Improvement:
- Participate in the development and continuous improvement of HR policies, especially in areas related to compensation, benefits, and compliance
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing processes to streamline operations and ensure accuracy
- Stay updated on HR best practices, labor laws, and government regulations to ensure the organization remains compliant
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
- At least 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources, specifically focusing on compensation, benefits, payroll, and compliance
- Familiarity with government contribution systems and remittance processes
- Knowledge of HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) to ensure the accurate processing of compensation and benefits
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for explaining HR policies and resolving employee queries
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records, payroll processing, and compliance documentation
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially, particularly regarding employee compensation and personal data
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements
- Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive employee information
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in labor laws, compensation trends, and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with HR software and tools, including HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite
- Ability to stay current on changes to labor laws, government policies, and industry best practices in compensation and benefits
