Job Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships, and securing solar installation projects for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. The role involves market development, proposal preparation, contract negotiations, and coordination with technical and operations teams to ensure successful project acquisition and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and related energy solutions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective clients, developers, consultants, EPC contractors, and utility stakeholders.
- Generate leads through networking, industry events, referrals, and market research.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and commercial offers to clients.
- Conduct client meetings, site visits, and project discussions to understand customer requirements.
- Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and project agreements.
- Achieve sales targets and business growth objectives set by management.
- Monitor market trends, government regulations, and renewable energy opportunities.
- Identify upcoming projects and bidding opportunities in the solar and energy sector.
- Coordinate with engineering and estimating teams for technical proposals and costing.
- Assist in project feasibility assessments and financial evaluations.
- Support strategic partnerships and business collaborations.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Ensure timely response to client inquiries and concerns.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth project handover and execution.
- Monitor client satisfaction throughout project development and implementation.
- Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and business development updates.
- Maintain records of client communications, proposals, contracts, and project opportunities.
- Provide regular market intelligence and competitor analysis to management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years experience in business development, sales, or project acquisition, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems, energy solutions, and project development processes.
- Experience in handling commercial negotiations and client management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
- Willing to travel for client meetings and project site visits.
- Experience in EPC or solar installation companies.
- Familiarity with local permitting, utility coordination, and renewable energy regulations.
- Existing network within the construction, energy, or real estate industry is an advantage.
