About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Mortgage Quality Analyst to join our Quality Assurance team. This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive audits of mortgage loan files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in mortgage operations and a deep understanding of quality control processes within the loan lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Review & Auditing- Conduct pre-funding and post-closing quality control reviews of mortgage loan files
- Audit loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Identify discrepancies, errors, and potential risk issues
- Ensure adherence to investor guidelines, company policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., TRID, RESPA)
- Assess risk levels and flag high-risk loans for escalation
- Support internal and external audit requirements
- Document findings, audit results, and quality trends
- Prepare detailed quality reports and scorecards
- Provide insights and recommendations for process improvement
- Work closely with processors, underwriters, and funding teams
- Provide feedback and coaching to improve loan quality
- Assist in developing and enhancing QA processes and checklists
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field (preferred)
- 2–5+ years of experience in U.S. mortgage operations or quality assurance
- Strong knowledge of:
- Mortgage loan lifecycle (processing, underwriting, closing)
- Quality control and audit processes
- Regulatory requirements (TRID, RESPA, FHA/VA guidelines is a plus)
- Experience with LOS systems (e.g., Encompass, Calyx, or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
