Job Description
Persons hired for this position will be responsible for providing Inventory accounting and costing services to 3M subsidiaries. Currently, 3M is deploying ERP (SAP) to the subsidiaries, and you would be requested to work in both Legacy System and SAP countries during transition period.This position will work as a liaison with countries and be primary contact from our internal client. You will report to RTR Inventory Team Lead and will be liaising with relevant parties in GSC and other country finance team.
Inventory Analyst responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Provide inventory accounting and costing services to 3M subsidiaries for countries with Legacy System. Also, You would be requested to provide inventory accounting/costing services to SAP system countries during transition period
- Ensure compliance to 3M Financial Standard, SOX and other regulations
- Responsible for preparation of manual journal entries
- Responsible for timely balance sheet account reconciliation
- Detail of monthly activities will be, but not limited to; lead inventory closing operation for the subsidiaries and support system operation. Keep legacy system inventory ledger to be compliant with 3M standard.
- Detail of weekly activities will be, but not limited to; Run soft closing and analyze & report variance information
- Detail of daily activities will be, but not limited to; Update unit cost in the system, run costing for new material number and work closely with countries for issue resolution.
- Engage in ad-hoc activities such as internal/external audit, tax audit, etc
- Enhance KPIs to improve productivity and service quality
- Participate in the project, e.g. accounting centralization activities from the region, etc
Basic Qualifications:
- Accounting degree and working experience in Finance and Accounting area. Solid financial accounting and internal control knowledge are required – Minimum 3 year experience
- Inventory accounting experience is required – Minimum 3 years of experience. Knowledge for standard costing is highly considered
- Working knowledge of SAP – minimum 2 years
- Experience in Shared Service Center for multi-national corporation is preferred – 2 years of experience
- CPA or equivalent qualification is preferred
- Fluent in English

- Flexible for new assignment and willingness to learn. e.g Ability to learn legacy system (AS/400, PeopleSoft, etc)
- Cross functional and cultural communication skill
- Detail oriented and enjoys working with operational processes
- Highly client service and quality oriented mindset;

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
