Senior Credit Analyst (Onsite, G.Y.)
Job Description:
- Work directly with Underwriters, Relationship Managers and Borrowers to manage the receipt of tickler items and calculate covenants to access the quality of Bank loans.
- Input financial information into Bank's financial spreading and tickler tracking software.
- Coordinate monthly tickler/covenant report and customer letters.
- Assess the completeness of underwriting packages from Processing and Relationship Managers.
- Accurately spread personal and business financials with minimal supervision.
- Underwrite ACH application requests.
- Conduct Annual Term Loan Reviews for Bank's real estate secured loan portfolio:
- Order site inspections, prepare ATLR's, complete spreading (property specific and global cash flow).
- Review loan submissions for compliance with Summit State Bank loan underwriting standards.
- Work closely with all parties to assist in timely processing, credit approval, and closing of new loan requests.
- Perform and document risk assessment on loan requests; verify accuracy of information provided.
- Manage quality control within the underwriting team.
- Work closely with Loan Ops Department to ensure procedures are followed in the closing and funding of the loans.
- Under supervision underwrite less complex loan requests and prepare credit authorizations with detailed credit analysis.
- Provide training to Junior Credit Analyst(s).
- Accept and complete any assignments for the department or the Bank deemed necessary.
Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Compliance:
- Comply with all requirements, policies, and procedures of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and complete all mandatory BSA training, as needed.
- Report to the BSA Officer any money laundering, fraud, and other suspicious activity.
- Comply with all requirements, policies and procedures outlined in the Bank's BSA/AML Compliance Program.
- Accurately gather and/or verify information in accordance with the Bank's Customer Identification Program, as required.
- Complete all required compliance and regulatory training, not limited to BSA, as needed.
Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field.
- Minimum of two to five years of experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of accounting practices and finance.
- Familiarity with basic real estate terms and markets.
- Demonstrates ability to apply concepts of financial statement analysis; knowledge of National and Local economics as they impact the community and affect business relationships.
Math Ability:
- Proficiency in basic math; ability to calculate financial figures pertaining to operational efficiencies, leverage, liquidity ratios and peer analysis.
- Ability to calculate and interpret all manner of interest calculations; basic statistical analysis.
Language Ability:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as loan files, credit policy and underwriting manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, both routine and complex issues including routine reports, credit analysis, proposals, and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information to customers, managers, and employees.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to understand, research and resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of spread program, Cash Suite.
