About the role
BTI Payments (Philippines), Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Makati City, Metro Manila. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's critical database infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and optimal performance.Your expertise will play a pivotal role in supporting the overall IT operations and strategic initiatives of our growing organisation.
What you'll be doing- Design, implement, and maintain complex database systems to meet the evolving needs of the business
- Administer database management systems, including installation, configuration, backup, and recovery procedures
- Monitor database performance, identify and resolve issues, and implement optimisation strategies
- Develop and enforce database policies, standards, and best practices to ensure data integrity and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address database requirements
- Automate routine database maintenance tasks and implement monitoring solutions
- Provide technical guidance and support to developers, analysts, and end-users
- Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies, trends, and industry best practices
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in the IT or finance industry
- Proficient in designing, implementing, and managing relational database management systems, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
- Strong understanding of database concepts, including indexing, query optimization, replication, and backup/recovery strategies
- Hands-on experience with database administration tools and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, PowerShell, Bash)
- Familiarity with cloud-based database services, such as Amazon RDS or Microsoft Azure SQL Database
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Proven track record of implementing security best practices and maintaining regulatory compliance
