Manila - Operations Manager (Office Based Operations)

Job Responsibilities:

• Work closely together with VP Operations to analyze situations, conceptualize solutions, and implement and ensure success of such solutions across the organization, across various business units, projects and disciplines
• Projects and scope of work can include varied situations that can include but are not limited to:

1. Order processing
2. Sales administration
3. Online sales
4. Consignment sales
5. Management of special purpose departments
6. Marketing-related functions / activities
7. Warehousing and logistics
8. Finance, accounting and other office-based work
9. Building and office administration
10. Purchasing

• Projects and scope of work can include varied situations including:
• Hands-on project management --being assigned to run a specific project or task and ensure successful conceptualization, planning and / or implementation
• Project coordination -- being assigned to coordinate with various team members from different departments to ensure successful execution
• Monitoring and follow ups -- being assigned to monitor, follow up, and keep track of various situations that affect the company's operations
• Process planning and design -- being assigned to plan out processes, workflows, procedures and steps for implementation by company team members, taking into account other factors such as cost, speed, complexity, etc.
• Special project --any other projects either big or small that may be assigned from time to time

Role Description:

• Operations Department is considered one of the "all around" functions or departments of the company. Any aspect of work within the organization that is not directly covered by the job roles of other team members could eventually be considered or referred to the operations department, for it to assist or to take over.
• As such, the workload that can be considered dynamic and ever-changing.
• Among the overall role of the operations department is to ensure that in whatever aspect of work that is covered by the group, the company is able to perform its role and meet expectations in an efficient, effective, and cost-effective manner.
• Utilizing processes, procedures, monitoring, and organizational design are among the main tools used by the Operations Department to achieve its goals and objectives.
• The Operations Manager will directly assist the VP for operations in achieving the goals of the company and the Operations Department.
• As described above, Operations (and consequently the VP for Operations) is involved in many aspects of the company's operations.
• The Operations Manager can be assigned various projects or tasks, and may also be assigned set responsibilities depending on the current needs or situations, which he / she may eventually work on simultaneously.

Key Requirements/Skills & Experience:

• University degree in Business / Management / Industrial Engineering / Systems Analysis or similar courses
• Preferably, at least 2-3 years of work experience in a leadership and/or managerial role involving operational work, work planning, execution in a variety of settings, including supervision of team members. Applicants with no previous experience in the field may be evaluated on their other credentials/background.
• Ideally with a background working across broad members of the organization, including warehouse/delivery organizations and not only those within his/her department
• Background working with retail/distribution organizations is an advantage
• Advanced proficiency in office software (example: Excel, Powerpoint, Email) and internet/web based software
• Strong written and verbal communications skills in English and Filipino
