Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Tax Accountant - with HandiTax Expertise to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals who want to develop their skills and take on a broad range of tax and accounting responsibilities.
As an Tax Accountant, your role will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare income tax returns for individuals, family trusts, private companies, and SMSFs from start to finish, ensuring compliance with Australian taxation laws.
- Prepare annual financial statements for family trusts, private companies, and SMSFs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Manage and prepare returns for various taxes, including GST, PAYG Withholding, stamp duty, land tax, and other relevant taxes.
- Prepare and file BAS, ensuring all tax compliance obligations are met.
- Work closely with clients to understand their tax needs, provide advice, and maintain strong relationships with clients, the ATO, ASIC, and State Revenue Offices
- Use tax software like MYOB, Xero, HandiTax, or SuperMate to complete returns, financial statements, and BAS.
- Collaborate within a designated team to ensure client satisfaction and tax compliance.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the reporting manager
Key Requirements:
- Experience with HandiTax is preferred not mandatory.
- At least 2 year of experience in public practice accounting with a focus on Australian taxation.
- Proven experience in preparing individual income tax returns, company and trust tax returns, as well as SMSF tax returns.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, HandiTax, or SuperMate.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients, understand their needs, and provide tailored tax advice.
- A keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all aspects of the work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly when dealing with clients and regulatory bodies.
