A Branch Officer in Charge (OIC) in financing leads daily branch operations, drives sales targets, and ensures compliance with financial laws. Top employers expect candidates to have strong leadership skills and a proven ability to grow a client portfolio.
Key Skills & Competencies- Loan Evaluation: The ability to review applications and judge if a borrower will pay back money (known as credit analysis).
- Sales Leadership: Skills to train staff, manage quotas, and bring in new accounts.
- Risk Management: Knowledge of how to protect the branch from fraud and follow rules like AMLA (Anti-Money Laundering Act).
- Financial Literacy: A strong understanding of how to read balance sheets and income statements.
- Degree: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accountancy, or a related field.
- Experience: Typically requires 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a bank, lending institution, or microfinance firm
- Willing to do Field Work
