QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS Microbiology / Medical Technology / Food Technology
• Must be PRC registered and preferably PAM certified.
• Must have at least 1 year of work experience in laboratory testing preferably in an ISO 17025 laboratory.
• Computer Literate - MS Office; Good/Average oral and written communication skills.
• Good team player and can collaborate with other teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participates in the review, updates, and prepares the quality procedures relative to water and used water analysis, quality control, validation, and equipment calibration periodically.
• Executes quality management policies relative to the assigned analytical parameter.
• Performs validation of new methods and verification of standard methods based on DENR, DOH and ISO standards and government regulations (as needed).
• Trains and evaluates incoming Sr. Lab Analyst /Laboratory Analyst and other areas of MWCI enterprise (as requested) on laboratory protocols from start to finish of analysis including Quality protocols.
• Monitors and checks output of Laboratory Aide/Technician if they are within accreditation standards on instrument maintenance, media and standard reagent preparation and inventory management.
• Performs work activities (environmental monitoring, escalation of unsatisfactory results within turnaround time, and proper waste disposal) to ensure compliance to KPI requirements with established policies and procedures.
• Analyzes 100% water/used water samples for parameters assigned based on regulatory requirements and other water/used water samples submitted to ensure compliance (i.e. process monitoring, process profiling, customer complaints, etc.).
• Sends immediate alert of unsatisfactory results for resampling to ensure regulatory compliance via approved communication channels and LIMS. (SMS conducted in as needed basis i.e. no internet connection).
• Analyzes class A, B, C water and wastewater based on new methods and operation of new equipment as support to R&D projects.
• Participates in internal and external audits.
• Identifies risks, recommends resolutions, and implements action plans in laboratory for continuous improvement and ISO 17025 compliance. (risk register/HIRAC).
• Proposes and implements action plan for nonconformance issued by Quality assurance section and accreditation bodies such as DOH, EMB-DENR, ISO 17025 and MWSS RO.
• Participates in the periodic review of quality procedures and test methods and its implementation.
• Participates in inter and intra proficiency testing activities of all assigned test parameters.
• Applies good housekeeping and good laboratory practices (5S) in accordance to safety and environmental protocol.
• Performs and evaluates quality assurance/control requirements related to equipment monitoring and basic troubleshooting, reagent and sample preparation, sample analysis and other analytical tasks.
• Ensures 100% analysis of all samples logged in LIMS and accurate result entry including quality controls associated with specific test parameter assigned by checking the data uploaded.
• Evaluates, monitors, and updates equipment record and analytical methods if within optimum performance; Troubleshoots and/or escalate for repair services/calibration, if needed.
• Participates by updating inventory for the preparation of annual budget forecast of the assigned unit.
• Completes records of tests which includes raw data and results of routine analysis and quality control in worksheets, log sheets and/or LIMS by “Result Entry” of the assigned test parameters as requirement of DOH, DENR, ISO 17025 and MWSS RO.
