Assistant Medical Biller | Work from Home

Prepare and organize medical billing documentation to ensure accurate and timely claim submission
- Review patient records for completeness and accuracy prior to billing
- Accurately enter and update billing data in the system and internal tracking tools
- Support billers and coders by ensuring all required documentation is complete and readily available
- Verify insurance information and identify discrepancies for escalation to the billing team
- Monitor claim status and maintain updated records in internal systems
- Assist in resolving minor claim issues and escalate complex concerns to billers or coders as needed
- Generate detailed reports on pending, in-progress, and completed tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
- Basic knowledge of medical billing processes, insurance verification, and claims lifecycle
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and billing software is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and validate data for accuracy and completeness
- Proficient in data entry and comfortable using spreadsheets and internal tracking tools
- Good understanding of insurance verification processes and common discrepancies
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and compliance
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for coordination with billers, coders, and internal teams
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify minor issues and escalate complex concerns appropriately
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment
