3D ANIMATOR (CEBU ON-SITE)
KingsIsle Entertainment is seeking a 3D Animator who will add life and personality to characters and creatures in our classic MMO projects as well as interesting new projects that are in the works. The perfect candidate is experienced with both rigging and animating lower poly characters.You will need to be ambitious and creative with ideas for animation while also possessing the technical knowledge needed to adhere to game parameters, story, design needs, and audio requirements.
About the Role:
- Rig and Animate stylized characters / creatures using 3DSmax, PuppetShop as well as other proprietary art tools.
- Work from provided character descriptions and from verbal / written art direction.
- Work with Character Artists to make sure Models are clean and that cuts are appropriately made for the movements required.
- Undergo review stages of the character rig and animations and further polish process as requested.
- Learn to bring over and possibly update legacy work from our older MMO’s so that they properly work in the Unity pipeline.
- Keep organized and well labeled files and maintain / work within an established file structure set forth by the Animation Lead and Art Director.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience rigging and animating 3D character assets in the game industry (other animation experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis).
- Extensive working knowledge of 3DSMax (Experience with PuppetShop and Gambryo a plus).
- Complete knowledge and understanding of the 12 principles of animation along with the ability to easily apply them to your work.
- A great passion for animation, video games and the entertainment it inspires and draws from.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask requirements and feedback gathering across disciplines, assess risk, define priorities, and resolve problems while meeting deadlines.
- Experience working with the Unity engine.
- Excellent critical and analytical skills, and a high attention to detail.
- Strong English written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrates characteristics to work respectfully and effectively with all levels of employees within the Art Team as well as with other departments to achieve mutual goals.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and positive under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
- Must have excellent attention to detail, accuracy, use good artistic judgment, prioritization skills and be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- High degree of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work night shifts in order to overlap in US working hours and interact live with US based studio.
