Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy (required); Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy (preferred).
Licensure: Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in the Philippines.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in sports physical therapy, preferably with basketball or track and field athletes.
Experience working with youth or collegiate athletes is an advantage.
Skills: Strong knowledge of sports-related injuries and treatment techniques.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with athletes, coaches, and medical professionals.
Proficiency in using rehabilitation equipment and technology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General:The Physical Therapist will be responsible for the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries among varsity athletes, with a primary focus on the basketball and track and field teams. The role includes promoting overall physical health, enhancing athletic performance, and ensuring athletes are in optimal condition for training and competition.
Specific:- Injury Prevention
Educate athletes, coaches, and staff on proper warm-up, stretching, and conditioning techniques.
Conduct regular screenings to identify potential injury risks.
- Assessment and Treatment
Provide immediate first aid and emergency care during practices, games, and competitions.
Design individualized treatment plans to facilitate recovery.
- Rehabilitation and Recovery
Guide athletes through exercises to restore strength, flexibility, and function.
Use therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy as needed.
- Performance Optimization
Monitor athletes' progress and adjust treatment plans to achieve peak physical performance.
- Documentation and Communication
Communicate effectively with coaches, medical professionals, and parents about athlete health and recovery timelines.
Participate in regular team meetings to provide updates and recommendations.
- Education and Advocacy
Advocate for the health and safety of athletes within the institution.
