Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy (required); Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy (preferred).

Licensure: Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in the Philippines.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in sports physical therapy, preferably with basketball or track and field athletes.

Experience working with youth or collegiate athletes is an advantage.

Skills: Strong knowledge of sports-related injuries and treatment techniques.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with athletes, coaches, and medical professionals.

Proficiency in using rehabilitation equipment and technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

General:

The Physical Therapist will be responsible for the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries among varsity athletes, with a primary focus on the basketball and track and field teams. The role includes promoting overall physical health, enhancing athletic performance, and ensuring athletes are in optimal condition for training and competition.

Specific:
  1. Injury Prevention
Develop and implement injury prevention programs tailored to basketball and track and field athletes.
Educate athletes, coaches, and staff on proper warm-up, stretching, and conditioning techniques.
Conduct regular screenings to identify potential injury risks.
  1. Assessment and Treatment
Perform initial evaluations of injuries to determine the severity and recommend appropriate interventions.
Provide immediate first aid and emergency care during practices, games, and competitions.
Design individualized treatment plans to facilitate recovery.
  1. Rehabilitation and Recovery
Develop and monitor rehabilitation programs to help athletes recover safely and efficiently.
Guide athletes through exercises to restore strength, flexibility, and function.
Use therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy as needed.
  1. Performance Optimization
Collaborate with strength and conditioning coaches to design training regimens that enhance performance and reduce injury risk.
Monitor athletes' progress and adjust treatment plans to achieve peak physical performance.
  1. Documentation and Communication
Maintain accurate records of athlete evaluations, treatments, and progress.
Communicate effectively with coaches, medical professionals, and parents about athlete health and recovery timelines.
Participate in regular team meetings to provide updates and recommendations.
  1. Education and Advocacy
Educate athletes about injury prevention, nutrition, and wellness practices.

Advocate for the health and safety of athletes within the institution.
