Job Title: Repair Technician Intern
Reports To: Technical Services Supervisor / Repair Team Lead
Position Overview
The Repair Technician Intern will support the Technical Services Department in the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of electronic and computer-related equipment. This internship provides hands-on experience in hardware troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, soldering, and technical repair processes within a professional work environment.Under the guidance of experienced technicians, the intern will develop practical skills applicable to careers in electronics, computer engineering, information technology, and technical services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware issues involving computers, electronic devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Support the repair, maintenance, and restoration of company-owned electronic and technical equipment.
- Perform basic to intermediate soldering and desoldering tasks for component replacement and repair activities under supervision.
- Assist in assembling, testing, and conducting quality inspections on repaired devices and electronic components.
- Help maintain repair workstations, tools, equipment, and inventory of spare parts and materials.
- Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and routine inspections of electronic and computer-related equipment.
- Accurately record repair findings, maintenance activities, completed work, and technical documentation.
- Adhere to workplace safety standards and proper handling procedures for electronic devices, tools, and components.
- Provide technical assistance to the repair team in daily operations and assigned service tasks.
- Perform other technical and administrative responsibilities assigned by the department.
- Currently pursuing a degree or technical/vocational program in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related discipline.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, electronic components, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Experience or familiarity with soldering and desoldering techniques is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of repair tools such as multimeters, soldering irons, and standard hand tools is an advantage.
- Willing to learn advanced diagnostic, repair, and maintenance procedures.
- Basic understanding of printed circuit boards (PCBs), electronic schematics, and circuit analysis is a plus.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management abilities.
- Capable of working independently and effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to perform onsite internship duties as required.
- Applicants must be able to provide a school-issued Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
- A daily internship allowance may be provided.
- Interns who successfully complete the internship program will receive a Certificate of Completion.
