Construction Engineer

About the role

Utracon Structural Systems Inc. is seeking a talented Construction Engineer to join our team based in Metro Manila projects. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of construction projects, ensuring they adhere to the highest safety, quality and efficiency standards.

1. Site Operations & Project Execution

• Manage and oversee daily site operations, including planning and scheduling of construction activities
• Monitor project progress and ensure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications
• Control project costs by minimizing delays, rework, and inefficiencies

1. Planning & Resource Management

• Plan and allocate manpower, materials, and equipment required for project execution
• Monitor resource utilization and productivity to ensure efficiency
• Track and control material usage to minimize wastage

1. Technical Coordination & Problem Solving

• Review shop drawings from the Design Department and Clients to identify and resolve construction issues
• Troubleshoot on-site technical problems to minimize delays and avoid additional costs
• Provide technical guidance and practical support to Supervisors and Foremen

1. Client & Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaise with Clients, Consultants, and stakeholders on-site regarding construction-related matters
• Ensure timely resolution of technical concerns and site issues

1. Procurement & Logistics

• Carry out procurement of materials and equipment in accordance with company policies and delegated authority
• Coordinate delivery, retrieval, and inter-site transfer of materials and equipment
• Ensure all logistics transactions are properly documented using approved forms

1. Compliance (IMS, Safety & Environmental)

• Ensure compliance with the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) policies and procedures
• Conduct Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) risk assessments
• Implement Environmental Management System (EMS) aspects and impact registers
• Ensure all activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

1. Documentation & Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of Site Activity Reports (SAR), Power BI
• Prepare and submit bi-weekly or monthly Progress Reports
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of site activities, including work progress, resource usage, and daily operations
• Ensure proper documentation of permits, inspections, technical reports, and stock take reports

1. Records & Inventory Control

• Maintain accurate documentation of delivery records, material transfer forms, and inventory
• Support monthly stock take and ensure alignment between physical and recorded inventory

1. Bachelor's degree in civil /Structural Engineering or a related field (Licensed preferred)
2. 3+ years of experience as a Construction Engineer or Project Engineer in the construction industry (Post Tensioning experience or exposure is a plus)
3. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
4. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address construction challenges
5. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
6. Up-to-date knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and safety regulations
7. Proficiency in project management software and tools
