Junior Mechanic

Key Responsibilities:

• Underchassis Inspection & Repair: Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical underchassis components, including brake assemblies, steering gear, suspension systems, wheel alignment, and tire management on commercial electric vehicles.
• Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS): Execute scheduled routine servicing on all workshop vehicles in accordance with OEM maintenance intervals, safety checklists, and pre-delivery inspection protocols.
• Basic Electrical Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing and repairing basic low-voltage auxiliary systems, including lighting harnesses, auxiliary wiring, and body electrical components.
• EV Technical Training Participation: Actively participate in fully funded, structured training programs covering high-voltage NMC battery systems, electric drive unit operation, EV safety protocols, and Level 2 diagnostic tool operation.
• Workshop Support: Assist senior mechanics and workshop engineers with complex diagnostics and major repair jobs, contributing to a safe, organized, and productive workshop environment.
• Inventory & Parts Management: Help track and manage workshop consumables and spare parts inventory, flagging low-stock items and verifying that parts used are accurately recorded in the job card system.
• Vehicle Handling: Safely move, position, and conduct short-distance road testing of vehicles within the designated workshop area to verify repair quality and overall operational readiness.
• Safety Compliance: Maintain adherence to all workshop safety standards, including PPE protocols, high-voltage awareness procedures, and proper tool handling practices at all times.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Vocational Certificate or Diploma (NC II or higher) in Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Servicing, or a related technical discipline from TESDA or an accredited technical-vocational institution.
2. Experience: A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of hands-on automotive repair experience, which may include on-the-job training (OJT), a supervised apprenticeship, or a formal vocational practicum.
3. Licensing: Must hold a valid Professional or Non Professional Driver's License (Restriction Code 1 & 2, for 4-wheel vehicles). This is a strict and non-negotiable requirement for vehicle relocation and road-testing duties.
4. Technical Aptitude: Solid mechanical foundations in underchassis systems (brakes, suspension, steering) and a working understanding of basic automotive electrical principles.
5. Key Competencies: A strong safety-first attitude, genuine eagerness to learn modern EV technology, collaborative and professional conduct in a workshop team environment, and physical fitness to perform hands-on mechanical work.
6. EV Interest: No prior high-voltage EV experience is required. Specialized EV safety and diagnostics training will be fully funded and provided by the company.
