Job Summary
The Cost Accountant is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling product and operational costs to support profitability and efficiency. The role ensures accurate costing of materials, labor, and overhead expenses while providing reports and recommendations to management.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain product costing and cost sheets.
- Monitor raw material, labor, and overhead costs.
- Analyze variances in production, wastage, and operational expenses.
- Assist in inventory monitoring and reconciliation with warehouse/production teams.
- Prepare regular cost reports and financial analyses for management.
- Support budgeting and cost-saving initiatives.
- Coordinate with Operations, Production, Purchasing, and Finance to ensure accurate cost information.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- At least 1–2 years experience in accounting, costing, or finance (fresh graduates may be considered for junior roles).
- Knowledge in costing, inventory, and financial reporting is an advantage.
- Proficient in Excel; ERP/accounting system experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to work with cross-functional teams.
