Welder

Job Summary:

The Welder is responsible for performing welding tasks to fabricate or repair metal structures and equipment according to specifications. The role includes operating welding machines and tools, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring high-quality and safe welds to support production and maintenance activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform welding and fabrication of metal structures, machinery, and components using appropriate techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Arc welding).
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Set up welding machines based on job requirements.
• Inspect welds and ensure they meet quality standards.
• Perform grinding, cutting, and finishing operations on welded components.
• Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
• Follow safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times.
• Assist in the installation, assembly, or disassembly of mechanical components when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams on projects.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• TESDA NC II in Welding (or equivalent certification) is required.
• Proven experience as a welder in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of welding materials, tools, and safety procedures.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks in various environments.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, or pipe welding.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Forklift or overhead crane operation is an advantage.
