Job Description – Accounting Officer
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a meticulous and strategically-minded Accounting Officer to lead our
financial operations. This is not a clerical role; you will take ownership of the integrity of
our fiscal reporting, navigate complex reinsurance accounting (Treaty and Facultative),and ensure strict statutory compliance within the Makati financial hub. The ideal
candidate brings a high level of maturity and professional judgment to drive internal
controls and financial strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Leadership: Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly,
and annual financial statements, providing high-level insights to the President
and CFO.- Reinsurance Operations: Oversee the recording and reconciliation of
premiums, claims, and commissions. Manage the settlement of accounts with
cedants and ensure accuracy in complex reinsurance transactions.- Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with BIR
- Internal Controls: Audit and strengthen internal accounting workflows to mitigate
- Strategic Oversight: Coordinate with external auditors and manage bank
relationships, fund transfers, and investment accounting.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy; CPA designation is highly
- Experience: At least 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting
- Industry Knowledge: Proven background in Reinsurance, General Insurance, or
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs,
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-
solving, and the professional presence to lead a department.
