About the role

As a tutor, you will work directly with students of various groups and academic levels, tailoring your teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and helping them overcome academic challenges. This position is fundamental to our ability to provide personalised, high-impact instruction that makes a measurable difference in our students' educational journeys.

Key responsibilities

As a Teacher (Tutor), you will be responsible for:

1. Delivering one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student learning styles and academic goals
2. Developing and implementing customised lesson plans that address specific subject areas and skill gaps
3. Assessing student progress regularly and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
4. Creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment that motivates students to achieve their academic objectives
5. Communicating regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, strengths and areas for improvement
6. Preparing educational materials, worksheets and resources to supplement tutoring sessions
7. Monitoring and tracking student achievements to demonstrate learning outcomes
8. Maintaining professional standards and adhering to our tutoring centre's policies and procedures
9. Collaborating with other team members to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery

What we're looking for

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in Education, a relevant academic discipline, or equivalent qualification
2. Teaching certification or valid teaching license is highly desirable
3. Proven experience tutoring students, whether in formal or informal settings
4. Strong subject matter expertise in one or more core academic areas (English, Mathematics, Science, etc.)
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively
6. Patience, empathy and a genuine commitment to supporting student learning and development
7. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple students and sessions efficiently
8. Proficiency in lesson planning and curriculum development
9. Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and academic levels
10. Professionalism, reliability and a positive attitude towards continuous professional development
11. Experience with educational technology and online learning platforms (preferred)
