The Practice Management Staff Accountant, under general supervision, is responsible for full cycle accounting, payroll and bill payments.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain general accounting and detailed cost determination.
- Coordinate and/or processing of general accounting, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and cash functions.
- Electronically reconcile bank accounts and daily cash balances.
- Provide necessary information to outside accounting firm that prepares quarterly and yearly reports and tax filings.
- Budget preparation, review and analyze financial statements and general ledger.
- Cash forecasts, financial forecasts and variance analysis.
- Prepare financial reports and financial presentations for clients.
- Prepare statistical analysis as necessary.
- Proactively identify and resolve accounting and client issues.
- Fill out government forms such as census, payroll forms, etc.
Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Requires one (1) to three (3) plus years of relevant professional experience in a general accounting position, preferably with background in payroll, full-cycle transaction processing and reconciliations.
- Excellent computer skills, and advance Quickbooks, Excel and electronic bill pay experience a must.
- Analytical Skills: Able to gather relevant data from appropriate sources; identify all relevant factors or restrictions; apply logical reasoning to determine relationship of variables; develop results-oriented conclusions; test assumptions, observe results, and incorporate revisions or corrections.
- Communication Skills: College-level verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals both internal and external of varying levels of authority including ability to elicit cooperation with direct authority. Also requires effective listening abilities, detail note taking skills; ability to draft high-level correspondence.
- Organization Skills: Able to prioritize and organize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Must have the capacity to balance both short- and long-term issues effectively and handle many simultaneous and often conflicting and changing priorities.
- Detail Oriented: Able to proofread accounting records and reports, as well as typed materials for contextual, grammatical, typographical and spelling errors. Pays close attention to details.
- Problem Solving Skills: Logically think through and solve problems involving several variables. Remain objective in gathering information and investigating issues.
- Computer Skills: Excellent Quickbooks, Excel and electronic bill pay platform skills Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required. Adapt and comfortable learning new accounting specific software quickly.
- Must be willing to work on a night shift schedule
- Amenable to work on a hybrid set up.
