JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical Project Planner to handle business-related tasks for a New Zealand-based company. As our Project Planner, you will play a vital role within our project controls team, supporting senior members in the development, monitoring, and maintenance of project schedules and budgets for construction projects.

Your focus will be on learning and assisting in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining quality standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules using software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project under the guidance of senior project planners
  • Support in monitoring project progress against schedules and assist in providing regular reports to the project team
  • Aid in identifying and communicating potential schedule or budget issues to senior members and contribute to proposing solutions
  • Collaborate with the project team to gather data for the development of project budgets and tracking expenses
  • Assist in ensuring proper sequencing and coordination of project activities
  • Support in the maintenance of project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and project plans
  • Attend project meetings to observe and learn, providing assistance as needed and updating records
  • Contribute to analysis and report preparation to support decision-making processes within the project team
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards
  • Participate in project risk assessments and contribute to the development of risk mitigation plans
  • Provide support to the project team with various tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
  • 1-5 years of experience in construction planning and scheduling
  • Familiarity with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Experience with project budgeting and cost tracking
  • Experience working on construction projects of various sizes and complexity
  • Knowledge of construction industry standards and best practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks performed
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and can work under pressure
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes and technologies
EQUIPMENT/SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  • Desktop/Laptop with at least an i5 processor; Windows 11 OS
  • At least 8GB RAM
  • Minimum internet speed of 50 MBPS
  • Working headset and camera for virtual meetings
  • Dedicated workplace
