Role Description
This is a remote contractor role out of the Philippines for a Software Engineer (AI Systems) supporting our growing portfolio of client engagements. You'll design, build, and deploy reliable backend systems that power real-world workflows — including systems that embed Agentic AI — working alongside global product teams to ship production software that businesses depend on.
The Software Engineer will architect data models and backend services, build robust APIs and integrations, and set up the deployment infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines that get these systems reliably into production. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable software.You'll bring AI and LLM capabilities into these systems and build the frontend components that bring them to life. This role centers on shipping real-world production software — if you're hands-on, pragmatic, and care about building systems that hold up under real enterprise demands, this is for you.
What You'll Do- Design and build reliable backend systems: data models and schemas, APIs, services, and integrations
- Architect performant, well-structured data layers and manage their evolution over time
- Set up deployment infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, and operate systems on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with observability (logs, metrics, tracing)
- Integrate LLMs, RAG, and AI/ML tooling into production workflows where it adds value
- Build user-facing components and interfaces (React or similar) to ship features end-to-end
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship secure, reliable, and maintainable production software
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong backend development skills (Python and/or Node.js)
- Solid foundation in backend system design: schema and data modeling, API design, and integrations
- Database experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL
- Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Practical DevOps experience: Docker, CI/CD, cloud deployments, observability
- Strong focus on security, reliability, and maintainability
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field
- Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities (Agentic AI, RAG, AI/ML tools) is a plus
- Frontend experience (React, TypeScript, or similar) is a plus
- Experience shipping real-world production systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, TMS, WMS) is a plus
