About the role
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Officer to join our finance team in San Juan City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and compliance of Blacksun Renewables Corporation.As an Accounting Officer, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the company's strategic financial objectives through meticulous reporting and analysis.
Key responsibilities- Recording, classifying and posting daily financial transactions to the general ledger with accuracy and attention to detail
- Preparing and reconciling bank statements, balance sheets, income statements and other financial reports on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice verification, payment processing and collection follow-up
- Maintaining and updating financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and financial statements for internal stakeholders
- Supporting audit activities by providing requested documentation, explanations and clarifications to internal and external auditors
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial records and ensuring timely correction of errors
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate cost allocation and budget tracking
- Supporting compliance with Philippine tax regulations, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) requirements and other financial regulations applicable to renewable energy operations
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
- Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a financial accounting and reporting role, ideally within a corporate or energy sector environment
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems, with demonstrated competency in using ERP platforms
- Strong expertise in general ledger management, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Solid understanding of Philippine tax laws, reporting requirements and compliance obligations
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and rectify errors efficiently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with finance and non-finance teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications for financial analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of renewable energy industry accounting practices and project-based accounting is a plus
