The Fabrication Manager (Royu) is responsible for the end-to-end management of sheet metal fabrication for electrical enclosures and switchgear. The role ensures that production — spanning punching, bending, stamping, welding, surface treatments, powder coating, and assembly — is executed with precision, efficiency, and quality to meet customer commitments.
The Fabrication Manager contributes to departmental and organizational objectives by providing frontline leadership to a multi-disciplinary production team, bridging engineering specifications with manufacturing execution, and driving improvements in delivery performance, cost efficiency, and product quality across the fabrication function.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Production Operations Management- Manage and direct day-to-day fabrication operations including punching, bending, stamping, welding, surface treatments, powder coating, and assembly to ensure safe, efficient, and on-schedule execution.
- Ensure attainment of production schedules, output targets, and delivery commitments for both Engineered-To-Order and Made-To-Stock orders.
- Monitor fabrication performance across throughput, downtime, labor utilization, and on-time delivery; take timely corrective action on deviations.
- Ensure timely resolution of production issues and escalate critical risks affecting fabrication output or delivery to the General Manager.
- Coordinate across production, planning, and inventory functions to maintain uninterrupted and efficient fabrication flow.
- Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fabrication efficiency, shorten lead times, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Assess existing fabrication processes, analyze performance data, and identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
- Drive defect reduction, Lean/Kaizen initiatives, and standardization of best practices across fabrication processes.
- Support change management and cross-functional alignment during process improvement implementation to ensure effective adoption and sustained results.
- Oversee adherence to established fabrication processes, quality systems, engineering standards, and applicable regulatory and safety requirements.
- Drive immediate corrective and preventive actions for quality defects, process deviations, and audit findings.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality discipline across the fabrication team, ensuring zero-compromise standards on the production floor.
- Maintain compliance with product specifications and relevant industry standards for switchgear and electrical enclosures.
- Lead, coach, and develop the fabrication team — including Senior Production Engineers, Production Engineers, Inventory Controller, and PPIC Coordinator — to build a high-performing and engaged workforce.
- Set clear performance expectations, monitor individual and team performance against targets, and provide regular, constructive feedback.
- Identify training and development needs and implement capability-building initiatives aligned to current and future fabrication requirements.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning within the fabrication department.
- Manage the effective allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials to optimize fabrication output while controlling costs.
- Monitor and control production costs, material usage, and waste in alignment with approved production budgets.
- Coordinate with the PPIC Coordinator and Inventory Controller to ensure material availability and inventory accuracy support uninterrupted production.
- Support procurement and supply chain planning to enable cost-effective and timely sourcing of fabrication materials and consumables.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (license is a plus)
- 8+ years in fabrication/manufacturing; 5+ years in a leadership role
- Hands-on operational experience in sheet metal fabrication processes including punching, bending, welding, and powder coating machines is required
- Experience in production planning, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement
- Proven leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of quality systems and safety standards
