Job description:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees of The Bistro Group. This role handles payroll computation, timekeeping validation, statutory deductions, government remittances, final pay computation, and payroll-related concerns while ensuring compliance with Philippine labor laws, BIR regulations, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities- Payroll Administration
- Process end-to-end payroll for head office and restaurant employees on a semi-monthly basis.
- Validate attendance, overtime, holiday pay, night differential, leaves, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Ensure accurate computation of salaries, incentives, allowances, commissions, and deductions.
- Process salary adjustments, retroactive pay, and payroll corrections.
- Timekeeping & Employee Records
- Review and reconcile timekeeping records submitted by restaurants and departments.
- Coordinate with HR and Operations regarding attendance discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee compensation data.
Government Compliance
Process and ensure timely remittance of:
- SSS
- PhilHealth
- Pag-IBIG
- BIR withholding taxes
- Prepare payroll reports and government-related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Philippine labor laws and statutory regulations.
- Final Pay & Employee Concerns
- Compute final pay, tax adjustments, and separation benefits.
- Process 13th month pay and annual tax adjustments.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding salaries, deductions, and payslips.
- Assist in payroll audits and payroll reconciliation.
- Generate payroll summaries, labor cost reports, and management reports.
- Prepare payroll reports required by Finance and Management.
- Support internal and external payroll audits.
- Continuous Improvement
- Recommend improvements to payroll processes and controls.
- Ensure confidentiality of payroll information at all times.
- Perform other payroll and HR-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Human Resource Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-branch or retail, hospitality, or restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Philippine Labor Code
- BIR taxation
- SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG regulations
- Payroll computation and timekeeping
- Experience using HRIS, payroll systems, or ERP software is an advantage.
