Job Description: Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Planning: Create detailed designs for OSP facilities, including routes for cables and conduits, using CAD.
Construction and Installation: Oversee the installation of aerial and underground cables, conduits, and related telecommunications equipment.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Conduct field surveys to inspect existing infrastructure, diagnose faults in lines, and implement corrective actions to maintain network reliability.
Project Management: Develop project scopes, manage budgets, track expenses, and monitor project timelines.Compliance: Ensure designs and installations meet applicable regulations and industry standards.
Coordination: Collaborate with other internal departments and external contractors to ensure project success.
Reporting: Provide regular updates on project status and performance to managers.
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field
Experience1–5+ years of experience in Outside Plant (OSP) design, construction, or telecommunications infrastructure
Hands-on experience with fiber optic and copper network deployment (aerial and underground)
Experience in field surveys, inspections, and troubleshooting telecom networks
Technical Skills
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for network design and route planning
Strong knowledge of: Fiber optic systems and splicing
OSP standards and best practicesCable routing, duct systems, and pole line design
Familiarity with GIS tools is a plus
Understanding of telecom regulations and safety standards
Project Management Skills
Ability to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgetsExperience tracking project progress and managing resources
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinkingEffective communication and coordination with teams and contractors
Ability to work both in the field and office environments
Detail-oriented with strong reporting skills
Other Requirements
Willingness to do fieldwork and travel to project sitesValid driver’s license (preferred)
Knowledge of local telecom regulations and permitting processes
