Job Summary:
The Design Officer is responsible for the conceptualization, planning, and execution of design projects within hospitality properties such as hotels, resorts, and event spaces. This role ensures that designs meet safety standards, aesthetic goals, and operational efficiency while enhancing guest experiences.The Design Officer collaborates closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality design solutions that reflect brand standards and elevate property value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Design & Planning: Develop and design layouts for building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components, tailored to hospitality facilities.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, project managers, and construction teams to align design plans with project timelines and budget constraints.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards relevant to the hospitality industry.
- Space Optimization: Plan and design functional spaces that maximize guest comfort and operational efficiency, including lobbies, guest rooms, event halls, and recreational areas.
- Sustainability & Innovation: Integrate sustainable design principles and innovative technologies to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare design blueprints, technical drawings, and project documentation for internal reviews and regulatory submissions.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct design reviews, site inspections, and adjustments to ensure the highest quality of work and adherence to design specifications.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate design concepts effectively to stakeholders, presenting visualizations and technical details clearly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Drafting or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in design and project development.
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and hospitality design standards.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with occasional site visits to hotel and resort properties.
- May require extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Opportunities for travel to project sites and company locations as needed.
