Logistics Manager - Roofing/ Steel Industry (Davao)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Manages the operation of the assigned Logistics sites related to inbound and outbound materials and finished product loading/unloading, transfer, warehousing, and dispatch;
• Prepares the needed distribution, such as warehouses, trucks, and logistics service providers for Logistics Activities in the assigned Logistics sites;
• Manages the flow of goods and materials from manufacturing and suppliers to the distribution network and to customers;
• Analyzes numerous shipping choices and selects the most cost-effective option. Negotiates with carriers, transporters, cargo handling contractors, and other logistics service providers to secure efficient service and preferential rates;
• Develops and implements program activities, coordinates efforts of subcontractors, production departments, and field service personnel, and resolves problems in the area of logistics to ensure production and sales objectives and contractual commitments are met;
• Obtains and sees the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to accomplish a certain job or project.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• College graduate with a degree in Engineering or Business
• Preferably with MBA Units, but not necessary
• Minimum five (5) years in managerial or senior supervisory capacity managing a highly integrated distribution and supply chain operations and computerized environment
• Exposure in Vessel Chartering, Geography, Sales and Marketing, Customer and Personal Service, Economics and Accounting, Transportation and Cargo Handling, Production and Processing, Engineering and Technology, Security and Safety, and Ports and Customer Operations, Administration and Management
• Computer Literacy, Microsoft Office, and ERP Systems literacy
• Strong analytical and planning skills
• Good communication and presentation skills.
