Job Summary:

The Technical Service Team Leader (Staff Level) oversees the daily operations of the technical service team, ensuring high-quality service delivery, efficient problem resolution, and adherence to company policies and procedures. This role requires both technical expertise and leadership skills to guide team members, manage workloads, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership & Supervision
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the technical service team.
  • Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations.
  1. Technical Support & Problem-Solving
  • Provide advanced technical support and guidance to team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues escalated by staff.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards and safety procedures.
  1. Service Operations Management
  • Monitor workflow, manage schedules, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Ensure service requests are addressed promptly and meet quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, reports, and team performance metrics.
  1. Process Improvement & Reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve service processes, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare regular reports on team performance, service metrics, and technical issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments for process enhancements and support.
  1. Training & Development
  • Identify training needs and coordinate technical training sessions for staff.
  • Promote knowledge sharing within the team to enhance overall capability.

Qualifications

Educational Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer (advantage but not always mandatory)

Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years experience in:
  • Heavy-duty trucks / automotive / equipment
  • Maintenance, repair, or technical service
  • With 2–3 years supervisory / team lead experience
  • Experience handling Chinese truck brands (e.g., Shacman, Howo, Dongfeng) is a strong advantage

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge in:
  • Diesel engines, transmission, hydraulics, electrical systems
  • Troubleshooting & diagnostics of heavy equipment
  • Proven ability to:
  • Lead and supervise technicians
  • Assign and monitor service tasks
  • Ensure quality and safety compliance
  • Can handle scheduling, reporting, and team performance

Other Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills (especially with clients & management)
  • Willing to do fieldwork / site visits
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge in HSE / safety standards is a plus
