Senior Accounts Officer (Finance and Accounts)

About the role

The Senior Accounts Officer will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records, supporting management decision-making, and ensuring compliance with local accounting standards. This role reports to the Finance Administrator and Treasurer and represents a career advancement opportunity for an experienced accounting professional seeking to take on greater responsibility within a dynamic, growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
2. Prepare and review financial statements, trial balances, and general ledger reconciliations in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and company policies.
3. Process and record journal entries for various transactions including accruals, adjustments, and provisions.
4. Maintain and reconcile subsidiary ledgers and control accounts to ensure consistency with the general ledger.
5. Assist in the preparation of management accounts, variance analysis, and financial reports required for internal and external stakeholders.
6. Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

What we're looking for:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Commerce, or related field from a recognized institution.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years work experience in financial accounting and reporting roles, preferably in a manufacturing, packaging, or similar industrial environment.
3. Strong proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, with demonstrated experience in financial modules.
4. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications for financial analysis and reporting.
5. Comprehensive knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), tax regulations, and accounting best practices.
6. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
