As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing for U.S.-based employees. You’ll serve as a key point of contact for payroll inquiries, provide audit support, and help drive process improvements that enhance the overall associate experience.
- Role Overview
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for day-to-day payroll operations, including payroll processing, auditing, issue resolution, and partner support. This role ensures adherence to U.S. Federal, State, and Local payroll regulations while supporting internal payroll-related projects and maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and accuracy.
- Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll data and associate information
- Process basic components of U.S. payroll including taxation, deductions, and special pay categories
- Review, validate, and audit payroll entries each cycle to identify and resolve discrepancies prior to finalization
- Analyze audit reports and correct payroll issues in accordance with established policies and timelines
- Ensure payroll compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local laws and organizational policies
- Support off-cycle payments and secure necessary approvals for escalated transactions
- Act as the first point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from associates, managers, and timekeepers
- Investigate and resolve payroll tickets through Service Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Enter historical corrections in the time and attendance system when necessary
- Assist with payroll reporting, data analysis, and process documentation
- Maintain flexibility in work hours to ensure payroll deadlines are consistently met
- Follow all payroll procedures and contribute to policy enhancements and improvements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Healthcare (required)
- 1–2 years of experience in U.S. payroll processing (required)
- Experience with Workday Payroll, UKG Time & Attendance, or ServiceNow (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of payroll concepts and U.S. payroll regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP, filtering/sorting)
- Skilled in Microsoft Word and basic payroll math; comfortable using a 10-key calculator
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Willing to work onsite and on shifting schedules in BGC Taguig or Makati
