IT Intern – Tasks and Responsibilities
Minimum 400 Internship Hours | Office-Based
Overview:
We’re looking for an office-based IT Intern to support our internal IT operations. The role includes assisting in the
configuration and preparation of laptops, desktops, mini-PCs, and peripherals for incoming hires and
replacements, as well as daily monitoring and inventory reporting of IT assets. Interns will also have the
opportunity to shadow IT personnel during on-site support tasks like printer and Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and
during IT onboarding presentations for new employees. The internship requires a minimum of 400 hours and is
ideal for students who are eager to gain hands-on experience in computer software and hardware setup,troubleshooting, and IT asset management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the configuration and setup of devices for incoming hires and device replacements (laptops,
- Prepare and test peripherals such as wireless mice, headsets, and monitors before deployment.
- Label and assign devices according to IT asset management procedures.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Perform daily monitoring and physical counting of IT assets stored in the inventory room.
- Generate and maintain summary reports of inventory records.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining order within the IT storage area.
Additional Learning Opportunities:
- Shadow on-site support tasks related to basic printer troubleshooting and Wi-Fi connectivity issues.
- Participate in ad-hoc tasks and observe IT Support personnel during IT onboarding presentations for
new hires.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an IT, Computer Science, or related program.
- Basic understanding of hardware components and device setup.
- Detail-oriented and organized in handling reports and asset logs.
- Willing to render a minimum of 400 internship hours.
- Eager to learn and support various IT functions in a fast-paced environment.
