Lead Electrical Design Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for interpretation of client’s requirement, research new developments and innovations and turn those ideas into technical plans. Consider cost, timeliness, effectiveness, and safety of new designs. Write and present reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Plan the options for design process for Tendering and awarded projects that needs Design outputs.
2. Assist Immediate Superior for update and improvement of KPIs and design process.
3. Ensure that the Procedures Manual, Process Diagram and other ISO-related documents were strictly implemented.
4. Everyday monitoring of team schedules and workloads of Electrical Design Engineer I, II and/or III.
5. Attend to pre-bid conferences with the Tendering Group (Tendering Stage).
6. Conduct site inspection (for verification and validation purposes).
7. Preparation and compilation of drawings to be forwarded to Quantity Surveyors (for estimate) and Document Controller (Tendering Stage).
8. Coordinate with third party surveyor for Earth/Soil Resistivity Survey or whenever necessary.
9. Conduct research, browsing the library for reference and review bid documents and turnover documents of Tendering group.
10. Attend kick-off meeting, design planning meeting and coordinate with client technical representative.
11. Prepare Drawing Master list for proper monitoring.
12. Prepare Conceptual drawing and schemes for design and calculation. If needed, coordinate with third party consultant for design calculation.
13. Discuss with immediate superior the proposed designs for quality checking and value engineering. Make revisions as suggested.
14. Finalization of drawings as per comments of superior or if applicable, PDI consultant’s design and computation. This includes coordinating with CAD operators for any changes and updates.
15. Prepare Technical Specifications and Material Sample Card for submission together with the design drawings.
16. Monitor drawing submittal register for drawing updates and approval and to make necessary revisions as per client’s comment until all drawings are approve.
17. Coordinate with Construction group if they need assistance.
18. Checks, verifies, and sign all Electrical Plans before approval of Engineering Design Manager.
19. Coaching of AutoCAD Operators, Design Engineers’ I, II and III as scheduled and whenever needed.
20. Report to Engineering Manager and Assistant Design Manager: Schedule, Output, Technical/Commercial Concerns, Special Concerns of his/her assigned Engineering discipline.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
2. Attended a minimum of 40hrs Training related to Electrical Technical Expertise (software, conventions, seminars, etc.)
3. With 2 - 3 years of experience in Substation Design.
4. Licensed Electrical Engineer
5. With at least three (3) years’ experience in EPC companies.
6. Must have a background as a Design Engineer in substation and transmission line projects.
7. Willing to work in Quezon City.
8. Willing to start immediately/ASAP.
9. One (1) Full-Time position is available.
