About the role
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our dynamic team at SM APPLIANCE (STAR APPLIANCE CENTER, INC.) As the Accounting Supervisor, you will play a vital role in overseeing the company's financial accounting and reporting processes.This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth and success of our organisation.
What you'll be doing- Supervise the accounting team in performing daily transaction audits in accordance with the established Standard Audit Procedures
- Ensure all transactions are accurately audited and recorded into the system within agreed turnaround time
- Validate and ensure recommended adjusting entries by team members are correct based on audited amounts and proper accounts
- Reviews accuracy of General Ledger accounts and prepares necessary journal entries to ensure correctness of Subsidiary Ledgers
- Monitor and ensure pending issues encountered by team members are closed and resolved within the period
- Proactively initiate, develop, and maintain effected working relationships with various cross functional teams across the company
- Work with external audit on an interim and annual basis for the compliance reviews and annual audit
- Ensure company tax compliance towards the accounting process handled
- Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Perform other task that may be assigned by superior from time to time
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- With at least three (3) years of relevant working experience in any field; retail experience is an advantage
- With at least one (1) year meaningful supervisory role
- strong leadership skills
- excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
- highly analytical with keen attention to detail
- can work well even under pressure
- proficient in Microsoft office applications
- knowledgeable on SAP is an advantage
