Civil Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor - Angeles

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Estimating both direct and indirect commercial and residential civil quantities and costs.
- Quantity take offs and bill of quantities analysis using various software tools (mud shark, cubit, blue beam etc…)
- Conducts Geotechnical studies in the application of soil mechanics and rock mechanics in the design foundation elements of structures.
- Preparing procurement packages and vetting supplier/subcontractor pricing
- Conducting constructability methodologies and staging mark ups
- Developing construction programs
- Review tender documentations, scope of works and contracts
- Preparation of RFQ's & Internal pricing requests
- Develop quantities from design documentation, reports and plans
- Develop resource schedule and preliminary tender programs
- Liaise with internal project delivery team and external clients/ subcontractors
- Attend site visits to thoroughly understand project requirements and visually inspect sites
- Assist contract administrators and project managers in assessing variation values and contract management prior and following contract signing
- Ability to negotiate tenders, communicate with clients with confidence
- Ability to represent in client meetings and working to the benefit of the organization.
- Ability to break down and justify estimating costs and quantities
- Establish good relationships with companies and clients
- Ability to generate BOQs and check BOQs against site drawings
- Ability to read and interpret design reports including geotechnical report, DA reports, Vibration reports, Dewatering management reports, Traffic management reports etc…
- Establish feasibility study for each project with estimated budget, projected cost and projected profit margin
- Ability to identify and project risks and opportunities for each tender and to communicate that across with project manager and director
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Associates Degree.
- Experience with Australian Builders, specifically in New South Wales.
- Knowledgeable with Australian Construction Standards.
- 2-3 years of industry experience and at least 5 years of estimation experience
- Good computer skills, including MS Office and a dedicated estimating software (Expert Estimation experience advantageous)
- Good computer skills, including MS Office, Mud Shark, Cubit, Blue Beam, Bid Contender, Estimate One, Procore and other online platforms.
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to develop rapport with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
