Interior designer

Job Description

• Produce shop drawings and technical drawings for fabrication based on client requirements and design briefs
• Translate client specifications into detailed design documentation ready for production
• Prepare cost estimates for fabrication and manufacturing projects
• Identify and quantify all materials, labor, and overhead costs per project
• Request and compare supplier quotations for materials and components
• Develop and maintain bill of materials (BOM) and quantity take-offs per project
• Maintain and organize estimate records, spreadsheets, and project documentation
• Coordinate with the fabrication team to ensure designs are production-feasible
• Liaise with the design and production team to ensure estimates align with technical specifications

Qualifications/Requirements

What We're Looking For:

• Graduate of Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial), Architecture, drafting, or any related technical course
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or any drafting software — required, not optional
• Ability to produce and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, and blueprints
• Knowledge of material costing, BOM preparation, and basic quantity take-off
• Familiarity with steel, wood, acrylic, or glass fabrication is a strong advantage
• Any hands-on exposure to estimating or technical design in a fabrication or manufacturing setting is a plus
• Proactive, reliable, and takes ownership of assigned tasks
