The Engineering Team Leader is the overall accountable in ensuring all installation, maintenance, modification, overhaul and service, and repair of all Line Equipment are provided with quality service. Ensuring proper execution of all planned and corrective maintenance work and productive utilization of technicians, and contractors reporting directly.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Administration and Execution of Management Policies
- Contributes to the creation and implementation of best practice, vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance of Manufacturing.
- Ensures brand and consumer trust by implementing all quality, food safety, environment, and occupational health and safety standards, in accordance with KORE as well as regulatory requirements set by the DOLE, DENR, DTI, FDA Local Government Units and all other regulatory agencies relevant to its operations.
- Ensures achievement of all site performance metrics in terms of Quality, Safety, Productivity, service level and cost and conduct of necessary routine reviews, action planning, and execution to support the over-all business objective of the company.
- Interprets trends, provides analyses, and reviews data relevant to Plant Manufacturing Operations. Provides processed Manufacturing data to other stakeholders in the organization to push for efficiencies and improvements.
- Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation is available.
- Partners with stakeholders in programs and initiatives that will enhance customer relationship and attain smooth issues resolution.
- Partners and directs stakeholders from other functions in program and initiatives, and day-to-day activities within the general scope of the role.
- Operations
- Provide specialist technical support for line equipment maintenance
- Under/ over or inappropriate maintenance activities identified.
- Maintenance schedules reviewed periodically
- Equipment availability, speed and throughput analyzed
- Assist to compile and manage the maintenance resource budget
- Provide proposals for replacement of equipment and or upgrades for the yearly Capex budgets
- Manage equipment upgrades and technological changes
- Maintenance Execution
- Project Manage all Line equipment & other assigned areas overhauls
- Ensuring proper execution of all planned and corrective maintenance work to all line equipment and other areas assigned
- Provide input to and manage expenditure for the unit equipment repairs and maintenance budget
- Recommendations made to improve maintenance mix
- Standard engineering practices, SOP’s developed, documented & implemented
- Root cause analyses carried out on breakdowns
- OEM support/ specialist called in immediately if it is identified that repair cannot be effected without further support.
- Report on breakdowns & repairs carried out completed as per work instruction.
- Ensure work orders checked for completion, signed off & captured on CMMS
- Management System Implementation
- Leads Line HIRAC and Line HACCP according to policy
- Participates in and conducts Plant audits
- Ensures that documentation and records keeping are effectively done
- Ensures compliance of the whole team with all management system policies
- People Management
- Conducts interviews and selects, the most suitable candidate for vacant positions in his team.
- Provides regular coaching and mentoring to assigned associates to ensure that expectations from the role are constantly met.
- Conducts regular performance reviews to manage team performance and to set a clear career plan of his/her direct reports.
- Identifies training gaps of each member of the team and facilitates the execution of the training plans to ensure that a career development plan for each associate is provided.
- Develop and implement effective feedback and recognition system for his direct reports.
- Reviews and approves the attendance of the team, including leaves, shifting and overtime, to ensure continuous operations and compliance with cost directions, budget and Company policies and procedures.
- Implements Company rules and regulations among his direct reports and performs consequence management or impose disciplinary measures in cases of violations.
- Spearheads People Development Forum/ Succession Planning for his team with the rest of the leadership team and ensures progress on the identified development areas for each of his subordinates.
- Works with the rest of the management team in laying-down and executing programs in his area of assignment.
- Review contracts of service provider and provides People team opportunities areas.
- Responsible in promoting industrial peace and cultivating engaged labor unions; ensures they are aligned with company directions.
- Actively participates in the Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations. Leads closure of grievance cases and LMC issues and concerns.
- Continuous Improvement
- Performs regular loss analysis for the assigned line as input for the strategic plans for the line
- Develops and ensures implementation of Corrective Actions Plans (CAP) for missed KPIs and non-compliance
- Conducts regular line performance reviews to identify action steps to ensure consistently good KPI results
- Manages special projects that will be assigned to the team
Position Requirements:
- At least 3 years of work experience in Mechatronics/Line Technician related position in a food manufacturing industry or FMCG
- Graduate of Any Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or any related Technology & Engineering field
- With good leadership and communication skills
- Basic knowledge on electrical and machine safety
- Basic knowledge on Project Management
- With experienced in handling improvement projects
- Experience in process engineering o Work request process o Work order cycle process
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- With basic knowledge on RCA tools: 5 Whys and BDA
- With basic understanding of HIRA (Hazard identification and Risk Assessment)
- 3 years supervisory experience in a FMCG manufacturing plant is an advantage
- Advantage but not required if Registered Master Electrician/Electronics Technician/Electronics Engineer/Electrical Engineer/Mechanical Engineer
- Advantage but not required with NCII certifications on Welding and Machining Skills Requirements:
