Key Responsibilities:
Quality Inspection and Testing:
Conduct Inspections- Perform regular inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Use various measuring tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to inspect products for defects, tolerances, and dimensions.
- Monitor and assess the consistency and quality of materials, products, and packaging throughout the production process.
- Conduct quality testing on products, including physical, chemical, and visual inspections, to identify defects or non-conformance.
- Collect samples of products or materials at different stages of production for further analysis and testing.
- Ensure all product samples are tested according to established standards, and document results.
- Ensure products meet company specifications and industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM, FDA).
- Check compliance with safety regulations and industry certifications during production and final inspection.
- Verify that the final products meet customer requirements and quality expectations.
Documenting and Reporting:
Quality Records and Reports- Maintain accurate records of quality control inspections, test results, and non-conformance incidents.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on quality inspection results, including issues identified and corrective actions taken.
- Document any deviations from quality standards and report them to relevant departments, including production, engineering, and management.
- Identify and document any defective products or materials, and initiate corrective actions to address the root causes.
- Monitor and track non-conformance trends and report recurring quality issues to senior management.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify solutions to minimize defects and improve overall quality.
Process Improvement and Corrective Actions:
Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions- Investigate and analyze quality issues and determine the root cause of defects or non-compliance.
- Work with production, engineering, and other departments to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of process improvements to enhance product quality and minimize defects.
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives and programs.
- Promote quality awareness and best practices within the organization.
- Use data from quality inspections and tests to drive improvements in production processes, materials handling, and employee training.
Collaboration and Communication:
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Collaborate closely with production teams, engineering, and management to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Provide feedback to the production team on quality issues and assist in finding effective solutions.
- Communicate quality requirements to suppliers and external partners to ensure consistency in incoming materials and parts.
- Train production workers and other staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices to prevent defects.
- Educate employees on the importance of quality control and the impact of quality on the company's reputation and success.
- Assist in the development of training materials or resources for quality assurance programs.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
Safety Standards- Ensure all quality control activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Report any unsafe working conditions or practices that could affect product quality or employee safety.
- Ensure all personal protective equipment (PPE) is used during inspections and testing.
- Ensure all production processes and products comply with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA, CE).
- Support audits and inspections from external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in industry standards and regulations that may affect quality control processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field is a plus
- 2+ years of experience in quality control, inspection, or a related field (preferably in manufacturing or production).
- Familiarity with quality standards, testing methods, and inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Strong ability to identify defects or discrepancies and ensure high standards of product quality.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and suggest process improvements based on findings.
- Proficiency in using quality control software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and data recording tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively document and report findings, as well as collaborate with teams.
