Role Overview: We're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Offshore Bookkeeper / Accounts Manager to support their day-to-day financial operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing invoicing, payroll, reconciliations, and supplier/debtor transactions using Xero and Deputy.This role is ideal for someone experienced with Australian bookkeeping standards, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
- Invoicing & Debtor Management: Assist with client invoicing, apply debtor payments to jobs, and follow up on overdue accounts with professional email communications.
- Supplier Invoice Processing: Enter and reconcile supplier invoices against purchase orders, flag discrepancies, and prepare payment summaries.
- Payroll Processing: Run weekly payroll through Xero, using Deputy timesheets, ensuring compliance with Australian employment standards.
- Creditor Payments: Prepare weekly/monthly payment runs, including uploading ABA files for bank processing and scheduling credit card payments.
- General Ledger Journals: Post journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and prepayments.
- Superannuation: Process superannuation contributions using Xero in line with ATO requirements.
- Credit Card & Petty Cash Reconciliation: Monitor and reconcile credit card transactions and petty cash accounts.
- BAS/IAS Reconciliation: Prepare and reconcile BAS and IAS reports for accountant review and lodgement.
- Payroll Tax: Process payroll tax payments as instructed by the company’s accountant.
- Collections: Monitor overdue accounts and conduct follow-ups via email in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with Australian clients
- Strong working knowledge of Xero (including payroll, invoicing, and bank reconciliation)
- Experience with Deputy or similar timesheet/payroll platforms
- Familiarity with Australian accounting standards, including BAS, GST, superannuation, and payroll tax
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Accounting qualification or certification (e.g., Certificate IV in Bookkeeping, CPA, etc.) preferred
- BAS Agent registration is a plus, but not required
