As a SQL Database Administrator, you'll oversee, secure, and optimize mission-critical databases in support of advanced healthcare solutions. You'll work closely with other IT teams to ensure smooth performance, reliable backups, and secure data environments.

The Qualifications We Seek
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in database operations, administration, or a similar role
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022, including SQL Express
  • Proven expertise in SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, including clustering and Always On availability groups
  • Solid background in SQL Server database administration: installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning
  • Proficient in backup and recovery strategies, ensuring database integrity and availability
  • Skilled in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions
  • Experienced in planning and executing database migrations and version upgrades
  • Familiar with cloud-based database environments, particularly Microsoft Azure
  • Understanding of database security standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks, change control processes, and issue management
  • SQL Server certification or other relevant database credentials (preferred)
  • Willing to work onsite as required

Your Daily Tasks
  • Database Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL databases. Ensure efficient and secure operations, and manage systems to maintain high availability and performance.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, optimize SQL queries to improve efficiency, and implement changes to enhance speed and resolve issues.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement robust backup and recovery plans. Perform regular backups and restore data promptly in case of failure.
  • Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data. Manage user access and permissions, ensure data integrity, and conduct audits to meet compliance standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database issues quickly. Provide support for database-related problems and work closely with IT teams to maintain smooth operations.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures. Ensure all records are accurate, updated, and accessible to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals on database-related projects. Offer guidance on database design and best practices.
