Kitchen Prep/Helper (Buffet & À la Carte)

Reports To: Store Manager/ Supervisor / Head Chef

Job Highlights

The Kitchen Prep/Helper assists in all phases of food preparation and kitchen maintenance for both à la carte and buffet-style service. This role supports cooks and chefs by preparing ingredients, cleaning workstations, and ensuring all kitchen operations run smoothly and hygienically.

1. Support for Buffet Service - Refill buffet stations with fresh food in coordination with chefs. Maintain cleanliness of buffet display areas. Assist in transferring food from the kitchen to buffet lines.
2. Support for À la Carte Service - Prepare mise en place (ingredients, tools, and equipment) before service. Assist cooks during rush hours with prep and minor cooking tasks. Ensure ingredients are ready and organized for fast-paced service.
3. Sanitation and Cleaning - Wash dishes, kitchen utensils, and cookware. Sanitize surfaces, floors, and equipment at regular intervals. Follow all hygiene protocols as per DOLE and DOH guidelines.
4. Inventory and Supplies - Assist in receiving and storing kitchen deliveries. Monitor supplies and report low stock to the chef or supervisor.

• TESDA culinary/kitchen training is an advantage.
• Good physical condition; able to lift heavy pots/pans and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Fast, reliable, and able to follow instructions closely.

Working Conditions:

• Hot and fast-paced kitchen environment
• Exposure to fryers, hot surfaces, steam, and cleaning chemicals
• May involve extended standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks
• Shifts include morning, mid-day, and evening schedules depending on store operations
• Physical work involving standing, bending, lifting (up to 25 kg), and exposure to cleaning chemicals
• Requires wearing appropriate PPE (gloves, apron, non-slip shoes)
• Arrive on time and follow attendance and uniform policies
