Fabrication Estimator - Manila

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience or a strong understanding of fabrication workflows in a heavy industry context.

• Drawing Interpretation & Take-Offs
• Accurately interpret structural and complex fabrication drawings (including GA and shop drawings).
• Create detailed and precise material take-off lists for steel and associated components.
• Simplify complex cutting lists into optimized, order-ready material summaries.
• Supplier & Subcontractor Engagement:
• Obtain quotes for steel, consumables, and components from approved suppliers.
• Liaise with subcontractors to gather quotes for defined scopes, including:
• Industrial painting/blasting
• Non-destructive testing (NDT)
• Electrical or auxiliary trades where required
• Welding & Fabrication Planning:
• Understand basic welding symbols and standards relevant to structural and heavy fabrication.
• Collaborate with internal QA/QC to allocate correct time and processes for welding and material prep.
• Quoting & Workflow:
• Follow a structured quoting process
• Ensure consistency, accuracy, and transparency in all quotations provided.
• Client & Internal Communication:
• Engage with clients or internal team members to clarify ambiguous details or request missing information.
• Maintain clear records of estimate assumptions and communications.
• Labour Time Estimation:
• Apply a practical understanding of fabrication timeframes for accurate labour hour forecasting.
• Factor in variables such as weld prep, assembly complexity, handling, and access constraints.

• Background in steel fabrication, preferably in a heavy industry or structural steel environment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience with estimating or project coordination in a workshop or fabrication setting.
• Familiarity with subcontractor management and material procurement processes.
• Proficiency with estimating/quoting software (Workflow Max experience highly regarded).
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral mediums with peers and clients
• Familiarity with AUS safety systems and legislation.
• Technical aptitude, good analytical and problem-solving skills

• Able to take ownership and accountability for project outcome and requirements
• Quick self-learner & pro-actively complete tasks with accuracy
• Flexible and capable of adjusting to transitions & rapid-changing work environment
